Awards and Honors



Dylan Abt scored the lone goal for the Home (White) team in a 6-1 loss at the IHSHL North Central Champions Division All-Star game to earn the Most Valuable Player award for his team. Casey Eisenberg, Aaron Hope and Jake Mandel also played in the game.


Sam Shachtman scored a goal and had two assists for the Home (White) team in a 6-1 4 win at the IHSHL North Central Platinum Division All-Star game to earn the Most Valuable Player award for his team. Jordan Meek and Zach Gordon also played in the game.

The spring JV Grey team won the High School Junior Varsity championship at the Dragon’s Lair Tournament by beating the Hinsdale Central Red Devils.




Congratulations to the JV team, which captured the 2016-2016 IHSHL Sterling Division Championship by beating BGHW 4-2!


Eight Giants Selected to 2015-2016 IHSHL Varsity and JV All-Star Teams

Highland Park was well represented at the IHSHL All-Star Games played at West Meadows Ice Arena on January 3. Six varsity players and two JV players were selected to play for their respective teams.

The six varsity players included defensemen Casey Eisenberg and Aaron Hope; forwards Garrett Collopy, Kieran Jagadeesh and David Shapiro; and goalie Ty Jablonski, who was named an MVP in the Champions Division All-Star Game. Giants Hockey Director Sean Freeman coached the team to victory.

Forwards Chase Felman and Danny Karmin represented Highland Park in the JV All-Star Game.

Blackhawks Select Jagadeesh for October 2015 Captain Spotlight

Congratulations to Highland Park Co-Captain and four-year varsity player Kieran Jagadeesh, who was selected in October 2015 to participate in Captain’s Night with the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.

The Captain Spotlight is a youth hockey initiative that features four local high school hockey captains per month. Each captain is invited to a Blackhawks game and interviewed about the defining characteristics of what makes a good leader.
